Is there anything the Archives DOES NOT collect?
Answer
The Archives will assume responsibility for collecting and preserving historical records on a selected basis. It is at the staffs' discretion to determine collections on a case by case basis. All materials received from internal sources are the property of the College. Other items may be accepted as donations. Donations to the Archives are accepted with the understanding that the Library has control over the disposition of all materials. As stated above, certain materials may not be suitable for the Archives due to concerns about size, potential damage to adjacent records (including records with mold or insects), or acute preservation needs that are beyond the capacity of the Archives. Generally, large artwork or sculptural pieces cannot be accepted at this time. The Archives takes care to collect materials of enduring value and provide them with considered care. Holdings that do not reflect the Archives’ collection policy, however, may under certain circumstances be deaccessioned.
