Can I talk in the library?

Answer

The level of talking and other noise allowed in the library depends on where you are.

If you would like to talk while you study, please use the collaborative space such as the Reference Room or Beauregard Mezzanine.

If you want to mostly study quietly, but may have an occasional hushed conversation, the quiet areas like the 4th floor Periodicals section or a group study room are right for you.

If you are looking for complete silence while you study, head to a silent space such as the Alumni Reading Room or any of the stack levels. When in these areas, please take conversations and all other noise elsewhere.
