What does "status" refer to in the NOBLE Catalog?
Answer
An item's status gives you more information about where that item may currently be. Here are some common statuses and their meaning:
- Available - item is on the shelf and ready to be checked out
- Checked Out - another patron has the item out
- In Process - item is being prepared for shelving by Technical Services
- In Transit - item is going to or coming back from another library
- Library Use Only - item cannot be checked out (most often books from the reference collection)
- Mending - item has been temporarily taken out of circulation to be fixed
- On Holds Shelf - item is currently reserved for another patron
- On Order - item has been ordered, but has not arrived yet
- Reshelving - item is making its way back to the shelf (ask if it is at the circulation desk)
